MEP Mikuláš Peksa has become the new chair of the Tibet Interest Group at the European Parliament. He thus continued his membership in the Czech Parliamentary Group of Friends of Tibet at the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, which was founded by the Pirates. Peksa also attended a few months ago at the Geneva Forum hosted by the Central Tibetan Administration, which addressed China’s misuse of technologies to suppress fundamental human rights.
“The Tibetan community deserves support because it remains at the forefront of the fight against the expansion of China’s surveillance system. “The misuse of technology for social and economic repression is a daily bread for China, which has led the Chinese to export their dystopian ‘big brother’ and use it to suppress basic human rights in Tibet,” Peksa said.
